Caribbean
Trust Real Estate offers prime beachfront real estate on the Caribbean
in southern Mexico, Belize, and along the
northern Yucatan Peninsula on the Gulf
of Mexico.
The Mexican Caribbean
The entire Mexican Caribbean coast spans approximately
210 miles. Mexico's Caribbean coast is divided into three distinct
sections:the Mayan Riviera, the Sian Ka'an
Biosphere Reserve, and the Costa Maya.
The entire coast is fringed by healthy protected coral reef which
are magnets for divers, anglers and tourists from all over the world.
History buffs can learn about the Maya at the famous
nearby ruins of Chichen Itza, Coba, or Tulum and the new Mayan museum
in Chetumal. Nature lovers can enjoy bird watching in the Sian Ka'an
Biosphere Reserve or the manatee refuge; there is unspoiled jungle
everywhere waiting to be explored. All this, plus the convenience
of international airports in Cancun, Cozumel, Chetumal, and another
airport under construction in Tulum.
The
Mayan Riviera
The northern most area of Mexico's Caribbean coast,
the Mayan Riviera, spans about 68 miles, including the region from
Cancun, at the northern most point, to Tulum at the south, with Playa
del Carmen in the center.
Below the Mayan Riviera is another 90 miles of coast
called the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. The Sian Ka'an, which means
"where the sky begins" was established in 1986 and a year later declared
a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With over 618,000 hectares (1,527,078
acres), it is the home for more than 800 plant species identified
to date and nearly 350 species of birds (all of Europe has only 400).
There are, however, no building permits issued. This restriction
reduces the available Mexican Caribbean by one third; making the Costa
Maya the last 52 miles of buildable Caribbean coast at affordable
prices.
